These Watermelon Popsicles are one of my favorite ways to cut up this delicious fruit for a crowd . Slicing into popsicle sticks just makes the 🍉 watermelon even more fun to eat, especially for kids. I have been cutting watermelon like this for years because it has that wow factor when you serve it. You can also 🧊 freeze them for a very refreshing summertime treat. However you serve it, there’s always someone at the table who says: “ Wow ! That’s so cool, how did you do that?!” I’m going to show you exactly how!

Why You’ll Love Watermelon Popsicles
These Watermelon Popsicles will become your favorite new ☀️ summer treat! By slicing the watermelon 🍉 into popsicle sticks, they’re so easy for the kids to grab and eat. Freeze them for a totally natural popsicle and have them all summer long. Adults will love these with a couple of fresh and bright flavor additions such as crumbled feta, 🌿 fresh mint or even my favorite, Tajin Seasoning .
How to Prepare Watermelon Popsicles
🔪 Using a sharp knife , cut a whole watermelon in half horizontally (or purchase half of a watermelon at the grocery store).
⬇️ Now, take half of the watermelon and place it flesh side down on a cutting board . Carefully cut the watermelon vertically into 1-2″ slices.
↩️ Rotate the cutting board and cut slices perpendicular to the other slices creating squares.
🍉 You should now be able to pull them up individually and be left with popsicle sticks which you can serve right away on a platter.
🧊 If freezing them, spread the watermelon sticks out onto a cookie sheet so that they’re not touching.
⏲️ Freeze on the cookie sheet for 3-4 hours, until fully frozen. Enjoy right away or wrap the watermelon popsicles individually in plastic wrap and return them to the freezer where they’ll keep for a few days.
Nonna’s Tip 🍉
When making the slices into the watermelon, it’s so important to use a sharp , good-quality knife and to hold onto the fruit tightly and in control .

Common Questions
Yes, you could certainly use canteloupe or honeydew as well.
Tajin is a sensational Mexican lime seasoning. You can find it online or at most grocery stores. I buy the mild one but you can use any heat level you enjoy. If you can’t find it, just add a pinch of salt and a bit of lime zest to these Watermelon Popsicles.
You can absolutely serve these Watermelon Popsicles as a dessert. I would plate a couple spears with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkling of fresh mint.
If serving these fresh, I would cut up to a couple hours before you are serving. If you are freezing them, they’ll keep in the freezer wrapped in plastic wrap for a couple weeks.
