Why You’ll Love Watermelon Mango Salsa

This Watermelon Mango Salsa will have your tastebuds 💃 dancing. Fruit salsas are so versatile and you can practically sub out all of the ingredients for anything you have on hand or enjoy the most. Any delicious fruit will work here, such as strawberries, peaches or pineapple so have fun experimenting! This recipe is also really easy to scale up to serve a crowd or to keep in the fridge for a snack all week long. It’s also really delicious served over a piece of white fish or in a 🌮 taco!

How to Prepare

🔪 Start by using a sharp knife to finely dice the watermelon, mango, peppers, red onion and cucumber into small cubes.

🍉 Add all the fruits and vegetables to a mixing bowl .

🌿 Now, finely chop fresh parsley and add it to the bowl.

🫒 Next, add the juice of two limes, olive oil and the Tajín seasoning.

🥣 Give everything a toss and enjoy with tortilla chips or even a spoon.

Nonna’s Tip 🧅

When a recipe calls for raw red onion , I prefer to remove a bit of the strong, pungent taste. To do this, I soak the chopped red onion in water for 15 minutes. Then I drain the onion from the water before adding it to the recipe.

Variations and Substitutions for Watermelon Mango Salsa

  1. If you don’t like the heat from the jalapeno or poblano, use half a 🫑 green bell pepper instead.
  2. If you can’t find Tajín Mexican seasoning, just add a pinch of 🧂 salt to this Watermelon Mango Salsa.
  3. You can use any fruit in this salsa, such as 🍍 pineapple, peaches, strawberries, or anything you personally enjoy.

Common Questions

Tajín is a sensational Mexican lime seasoning. You can find it online or at most grocery stores. I buy the mild one but you can use any heat level you enjoy. If you can’t find it, just add a pinch of salt instead of Tajín as I often do.

You can use any fruit you enjoy, such as pineapple, peaches or strawberries.

If you want to prep this salsa for the following day, you can simply chop everything up and then store it in the fridge. When you’re ready to serve it, toss the fruits and vegetables with the olive oil, seasoning, and lime juice.

This Watermelon Mango Salsa is the perfect summer topping for grilled chicken, fish, or pork, as a dip with tortilla chips, or as a garnish for tacos or quesadillas.

Using a sharp knife , I like to cut all the fruits and cucumbers into thinner pieces, make lengthwise cuts and then chop into cubes across.
