Savory onions 🧅 are sliced thin 🔪 and baked to golden-brown perfection on a bed of salty Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. When it cools, the cheese creates a crispy, crunchy coating that’s good until the last bite 😁. How to Prepare
⏲️ Preheat the oven to 400F (200C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper .
🔪 Slice the onions into rings with a knife or use a mandoline . Then, add an even layer of cheese to the baking sheet followed by the onion slices.
🧅 Make sure you arrange each onion right next to each other.
🫒 Drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil onto each one and sprinkle with Greek seasoning.

- Cut the Cheese: This recipe works best with shredded Parmigiano Reggiano covering the bottom of the baking sheet. The cheese is what ultimately gives this recipe its texture and helps the onion rings hold their shape.
- Line Up : To achieve that crispy texture, you don’t want to overcrowd your baking sheet with the onions. Line them up so that the sides are touching, but do not stack or overlap.
- Let it Cool: You want to let these onion ring chips cool completely before digging in. When it comes out of the oven, the cheese will be warm and melty. It will harden as it cools and you’ll have that crispy chip texture you came here for.
