Nonna’s Tip 🍯

You can use any nut or seed butter you have on hand. If your jar is not empty, you can simply make this dressing regardless by adding 1-2 teaspoons of nut butter to the dressing in a separate jar when making it. I think chunks of nut butter are acceptable and can enhance the salad.

Variations and Substitutions for Nut Butter Salad Dressing

  1. Experiment with different types of nut or seed butter , such as almond butter, cashew butter, 🌻 sunflower seed butter, or tahini. Use what works for your preference or dietary restrictions.
  2. If you prefer a vegan option or want to reduce the sweetness, you can substitute honey with 🍁 maple syrup, agave nectar, or another sweetener of choice.
  3. While Dijon mustard is used in the original recipe, you can substitute it with whole-grain mustard, spicy brown mustard, or even a touch of 🍎 apple cider vinegar.
  4. Instead of using Italian seasoning in your Nut Butter Salad Dressing consider using your own combination of spices and 🌿 herbs such as garlic powder, onion powder, dried herbs like basil or oregano, or fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro.
