How to Prepare Greek Feta Salad

🍅 Cut the tomato in half, removing the stem. Then, cut each half into equal pieces. The size of the pieces can vary according to preference.

🥒 Next, cut the cucumber in half and slice each half into half moons.

🧅 Thinly slice the red onion and add it to a bowl along with the kalamata olives.

🧀 Then in a separate bowl, mash the feta with a fork. Add oregano, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and dill if desired. Mix well.

🥗 Pour the creamy feta mixture over the salad and toss to combine.

🧂 Lastly, taste and adjust for salt if necessary. Enjoy your Creamy Greek salad!

Nonna’s Tip

Always make sure you buy GOOD quality and FRESH feta from behind the deli counter where you can taste a piece of any you like. Look for feta in brine, never pre-crumbled.

Common Questions

I use Redmond Real Salt , please note that depending on the salt you use, your dish may be less or more salty. Salt is to taste so please always taste and adjust as you cook.

Yes, you can certainly use fresh oregano in place of dried for this Creamy Greek Salad, and if you don’t like dill, you can use double the quantity of fresh or dried oregano in its place. Dried oregano varies in intensity, so always add a little at a time, taste, and then adjust the seasoning.

I use an olive/cherry pitter to remove the pits from my olives for my Creamy Greek Salad.

You can use any feta you like or Bulgarian sirene, also known as Bulgarian white cheese. Always make sure you buy GOOD quality and FRESH feta from behind the deli counter. Look for feta in brine, never pre-crumbled.
