  • Boiled Egg Peel Hack Recipe

In this viral hack, I am going to show you how to peel your hard-boiled eggs using ice-cold water and glass Tupperware . The peel from the egg practically slides off, leaving you with perfectly peeled eggs every 👏 single 👏 time 👏.

Why You’ll Love This Hack

It’s no secret that peeling hard-boiled eggs can be tricky. There is nothing more frustrating than attempting to peel your freshly boiled egg while stubborn shell fragments cling to the egg white, ruining the egg in the peeling process 🥲.

This easy and effortless hack makes sure that your eggs come out perfectly cooked and peeled each and every time. No more shell splinters or egg waste!

What To Do

🚰 Boil water on the stove on medium heat . It should be a low rolling boil, not vigorously boiling.

🥚 Gently crack the bum of the egg on a hard surface, making sure it doesn’t leak out. Then, add the egg to the boiling water with a slotted spoon . Boil the egg on medium-low heat for 8-10 minute s.

🧊 Take a glass Tupperware container and add ice water to it. I added freezing cold water with a few ice cubes. When the egg has boiled, place it in the ice water, secure the Tupperware with a lid and vigorously shake until the whole peel comes off.

You should have perfectly peeled boiled eggs left in the Tupperware with the shells floating about. Simple yet effective!

Nonna’s Tip 🥚

I like to add one egg at a time, but if your Tupperware dish is larger, feel free to add multiple eggs! Gently crack the egg making sure it doesn’t leak out.

Common Questions

Ice-cold water works best for this hack. I used cold water from the tap and then added ice cubes to make it extra cold. You can use water from your fridge, but just make sure it’s as cold as possible.

Glass Tupperware is preferred as it can withstand temperature changes and is sturdy. I used Pyrex Glass Tupperware linked HERE .

This hack was specifically designed to peel hard-boiled eggs. Soft-boiled eggs have a different texture, so the rapid cooling and shaking process may compromise them.

I like to add one egg at a time, but if your Tupperware dish is larger, feel free to add multiple eggs!

Yes, you can certainly re-use the same water just ensure that it remains ice-cold. Therefore, if the water starts to warm up, simply add a few more ice cubes to the water.
